Midget sub encounter in TMO
 

Encountered a midget sub in TMO 2.0 in Bungo Suido.fired torpedos but they prematured so ended up disabling her with deck gun and then finishing it off by ramming.Post this in other thread also but figured i'd post seperate also.Anyone else encountered this in camapaign? First time for me.

I found one there with TMO 1.9 going south through the Bungo. It was making good speed. After stopping it dead on the water with the DG I tried to get under it and lift it out of the water. I got it balanced once and took off, but it fell off. I thought if I took it back to Pearl I would get the MOH, but no matter how hard I tried, just couldn't get it to balance and stay on my sub...

Seemed it was running almost submerged, lil devils can turn on a dime.

Yea, the big deck gun mounted AFT stopped her cold though, guess it wiped out the crew.Just wish my torpedo couldve hit and wish i had external view on for this patrol.I once torpedoed a midget sub in a single mission, it was awseome.The explosion just demolished it and it spun like an aircraft in a flat spin lol all the way to the bottom.

Good job ducimus on the deck gun Tambor class gets in July 42 from the V boats.Reloads slower but it packs a nice punch.

I missed with my torps. I wasn't even sure if they would blow it up. How fast do they go submerged? As I recall it was submerged with it's scope out of the water, but making a fast speed.

That's the only one I've seen and haven't seen one since...moving that is.

I had him at 8 knots submerged before he was alerted by the premature detonations.Wish the big Japanese subs and German U Boats would patrol submerged, would be pretty cool.Crew will yell sub spotted if they see the periscope, they did for the midget
