Any of the .exe tinkering modes (RA?) address DW's graphics problems?
Specifically:
- Only using 16-bit textures rather than 32-bit. Makes certain blending look...well, wrong, on modern graphics cards. - No support for widescreen resolutions, meaning you need to deal with huge black bars on the side of your screen, or 'stretched' displays. - No support for anti-aliasing. If you FORCE it to be enabled from your external graphics control panel, certain artifacts appear in-game (most notably from the periscope display, but in other areas, as well) - Rather primitive water and atmospheric shading and 3d model lighting ....so....any changes in those areas from the mod community? |
I've been try to change some in your list for sometime, something like widescreen, little success.
conclusion: it need a graphic engine redesign, which only can be done by access the source of codes in S.C.S hands. so, don't dwell on it this pic is the graphic code part in DW.exe http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...WX/Capture.png |
