70th Anniversary of Battle of Britain

Surprised no-one posted this but Saturday was the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Heres to those brave men who fought overwhelming odds, and emerged victorious:salute:

I thought July 10th was the start of the BoB...

Ah, well. :salute: either way.

Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Prokhorovka and Operation Kutuzov though, arguably one of the most important turning points of World War II.

EDIT: Ah, saturday. Right.

Thanks to them brave chaps Britain could stay in the war and made the liberation of Europe a possibility.

Monty Python skits might have been so much different without the sacrifices made by the brave airmen of the RAF. May we never forget. :salute:

Yes it's Daily Mail, but a nice piece on the underrated Hawker Hurricane's role in the Battle of Britain:

Nice piece, the Hurri was the unsung hero of the BOB. A superb kite that would bring you home even if she looked more like a sieve than an aircraft. :yep:

Yeah, thought he meant today was as usually these threads are made on the actual date, then I looked again and edited my post to reflect my original lack of reading of the original post.

All is well now, move along.
