How to accomplish this patrol..?

Out of Dutch Harbor Aleutian Islands Aug 1942..to Kurili Islands..in a
S boat. The long and short of the question is..there isn't enough fuel to reach the patrol point; even at 1/3 speed.

Is this a flaw in the campaign file? Using RSRD + OM + OMEGU.

Thanks,
Royce

I use S-boats out of Dutch Harbor all the time. Using FOTRS. But that mod bumped up the S-boats range to around 12,000 miles @ 9knots

First, your best speed for milage is 9-10kts, running slower just uses more fuel. Stay on the surface as much as possible. Unless it's a bugged patrol, you should have plenty fuel.

Do you have to check fuel milage icons at this range with your setup.

Also, if you can make it, try to dock at pearl or midway. I beleive that also fills your fuel.

thanks for the replies...I guess travelling at 1/3 (2knots with the mod I'm using) is too slow. I thought the slower speed uses less fuel.

I ran on the surface 99% of the trip...but ran out of fuel about half way to the patrol station. Even if I made it there I wouldn't be able to get to any refit port.

Strange thing, since it seems that others would have no problem with this patrol. I was getting buzzed by many, many air patrols near one of the island's air base.

Anyway I thought it might have to do with something I was or wasn't doing or the RSRD mod.

Armistead..I did have to check the fuel icon every bit of the way..if that was what you were asking.
