Codemasters Future Gaming Survey

Hi to you and greetings to SubSimmers

Just thought to draw your attention to a survey from Codemasters asking what future games people want to see produced

Codemasters have always produced quality games IMO so perhaps you guys would like to fill in the survey to help out - Perhaps you can leave a comment re producing the successor to the Silent Hunter series as Ubisoft seems to have deserted the franchise

Any way here’s the link to the survey

Best Regards to all Sub Simmers and to the modders in particular

I see there's a comment box at the end. I guess this is where we say "please please make a subsim!"

i have a world war two first person shooter idea that has not even been touched or thought of yet. its pretty remarkably bad ass IMHO - good enough to make into a game and for me to consider selling the idea. but then again - im biased.

Excellent - keep it going round and round - you have never had a games publisher ask what you want

Now you have

SO Tell Them!!!

Done!
So if we want, we request!

Done! If only 10% of subsim users would fill this in now...

Could it be a 3D Commandos that is actual true to the series with cooperative multiplayer?

Thanks Rascal for the link. My message was "Please make a good and bug free U-Boot sim" :P Hope that more and more will go over the survey and we can release Ubi from the pain of making another bugged subsim.

I am a huge fan of these guys exceptional F1 sim, so I'm damn sure that they can make a really good subsim! I would pay even 100EUR + for it. Hail for SH6 under Codemasters logo!

Oh look, they don't have a captcha. Would that be cheating? Yet would it be bad to influence the result a bit :DL?

i would like to see a realism based, highly detailed, high quality grafics, high quality game engine, submarine simulator game and it would be great if it has customer modding ability.

i really like submarine simulator games but very few are done of any quality and most are thrown together with little effort or resources dedicated to making them into good quality games.

ubisoft's silent hunter 3 and silent hunter 4 were about the best that was out there but that wasnt saying much when compared to the quality and level of debugging for other games being released at that time. their last release(silent hunter 5) was turned into a first person arcade style sub captain and crew interaction game and was in my opinion a total flop.

silent hunter 3 & 4 is about the best i have seen in so far as realism but they leave a lot to be desired in grafics and game engine and have not had much effort put into them being made to resemble anything of the quality of games made today.

a game that has the option to be very customer moddable and has realistic environment and you act realistic as the captain while being able to move freely around the boat is the key.

so far subsims have failed to do this, and while this will probably not be your best selling game in the short term, i think it could be in the long term because it will have longevity in continued sales for a very long time plus it would be an extremely loyal customer base

Add the link to your signature, pass it around here as much as you can - not just in the SH5 forum... :salute:

That sounds like "I want a model 21 lever action carbine Daisy Red Rider BB-gun"

Webster...dont you know you'll shoot your eye out :haha:

Oh....and DONE! Submitted "PLEASE make a realistic, FINISHED Submarine Simulator (U-boat preferred, but any era would be fine).
A certain publisher as taken advantage of this community for 3 game releases and relied on MODDERS to FIX thier game and this community is SICK of it.
I would GLADLY pay $80 US dollars for a relistic sub sim with good graphics and tense gameplay!!! As long as it is FINISHED or near finished at release! (as well as being MOD friendly)."

I dunno...

Codemasters was responsible for the debacle that was Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which was released in a more unfinished state than SH5 was...and then completely dropped all support only a few months after release. No more patches, no more mods at all. The game, to them, is done.

Codemasters held on to Starforce longer than almost any other publisher, and still retains a DRM system at least as punishing as SH5. Dirt 2 even requires you to create a Windows Live account...and in doing so have essentlally sold you out to a third party for marketing purposes.

I would be afraid of the old saying about jumping out of the frying pan right into the fire...Codemasters has proven themselves to be no better (and possibly worse) than Ubisoft as of late.

Yes, they have produced some outstanding software in the past. I own three copies of Grid, Dirt, Race Driver, and many others (multiple copies for network gaming). I own 2 copies each of the original Operation Flashpoint and Resistance from many years ago. At that time, Codemasters was a quality publsiher that appeared to care for it's customers...but that was a different time, and I no longer trust them nor will I purchase anything that has their name on it.

Before you ask for a Codemasters Sub-sim...you would do well to check out the "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising" forums and see how they handled that dedicated customer base, and what their attitude was when they announced the end of all support for the game.

...Be very afraid should they ever produce something for this community.

:nope:
