|
Good tunes from the eighties, I've got too many favourites to list, but here's one that I just thought of when listening to yours Xabba.

This tune is the first dance I ever had with the woman who is now my wife.
It was only our second date and we were in a local night club with a few of my then shift colleagues and their respective partners, we had been around a few bars in the town earlier and I'll always remember seeing her in front of me dancing with my tie around her forehead in a hairband fashion. Less than an hour later my colleagues and I were battling to evict a gang of pi$$ heads out of the establishment as a means of helping a woefully under strength compliment of doormen  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=or4b593vywM |

It's amazing how we're all a part of the time we came of age in. John Lennon once said that the best music ever written was what you listened to as a teenager, which made Chuck Berry the greatest artist ever as far as he was concerned.
I grew up in the '60s, so of course everything that formed me came from that era. So the music of the 1980s was my 'new crap' that wasn't as good as the 'old stuff'. I like Foreigner, can tolerate Toto and Survivor, and maybe Duran Duran a little, but the rest is boring to me. Weird, ain't it? Oh, and stabiz, the Kim Wilde song is a remake of a 1966 original by The Supremes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3bjM...eature=related |
Funny how I'm only 34 but the stuff kids today listen to does my head in.

But still if you play the 70 80 rock music to today kids they will like it if they are into rock. 80 Pop they might find silly. |
Couple of my all time favorites. Seems like I could listen to these over and over and never get tired of them:
Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqYBGcv41M8 Little River Band's "Cool Change" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9SEO...eature=related |
