Problem with DW installation on Windows 7

I try to install DW on my new machine with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. before that, I use regurarly DW on my laptop with Windows Vista, without problems (LWAMI mod installed).

The problem is the game appears "blacked" on the selection initial page (without any mod, 1.04 patch installed). It seems a problem of display resolution (I use a wide LCD monitor), but i donīt know how change the resolution from some config file of the game, before run DW. Inside the game, I canīt modify the display resolution (because that problem of black initial page, I canīt access to the "options" menu.).

I love DW (and SH4), because they are the pretty sons of my very first sub simulations (Janeīs 688i and SH1) I play. I desperate for the DW in my new PC!

Some help, please :wah:...Many thanks. :yeah:

Fitz :salute:

Hi,
.ModeID number
in dangerouswaters.ini should control the screen resolution: try different values between 1 and 3 to find the correct one.

Maybe using the desktop with 32bits of colour depth you can set:
.RunInWindow Yes
to maintain the control of the game during tests.

Finally, set all options in Graphic section of dangerouswaters.ini to No using the notepad to be sure to start safely the game.

Good luck.

As sertore says, try 'RunInWindow Yes' in the ini file. But you must set your desktop to 16-bit, as DW won't run in a window at 32-bit.

I actually run the game in a window all the time now as it does not support widescreen resolutions, and stretching all the dials looks weird to me.

I play DW with my desktop set to 32 bit and full screen too though the screen is stretched. But I'm using Vista.
