"I'd like to get the ******* out of here," Blagojevich said on one of the tapes, recorded the morning after Obama won the 2008 presidential election. "The objective is to get a good gig over there," meaning D.C.
Quote:

Harris said that he and Blagojevich rehearsed how they would broach the subject of a deal to appoint Jarrett to the seat in exchange for a cabinet appointment or ambassadorship for Blagojevich. He testified that Blagojevich planned to float the names of some other potential candidates for the Senate seat to use as leverage for a deal with Obama.
Quote:

Blagojevich could tell the Obama administration that he was considering appointing Lisa Madigan to the seat to get her father to stop blocking his political agenda in Springfield.
ain't freedom of the press a @#$ch, blago:haha:

Jury Hears Talks Of Effort To Stop Negative Chicago Tribune Editorials

Prosecutors also played a tape in which Blagojevich tells Harris that he needs the Chicago Tribune to stop publishing editorials criticizing him and calling for his removal from office.

In the tape, Blagojevich can be heard saying "our recommendation is fire all those *******in' people. Get 'em the ******* out of there and get us some editorial support."

Nothing like freedom of speech, eh?

Having people fired for speaking their minds, in an editorial.:
Could this dirtbag be prosecuted for Civil Rights Violations?

There was an interesting show on the history of the Chicago mob. It didn't take too long before the show was talking about Daily and Rezko:haha:. Now, who was it that has close ties to rezko again?:hmmm: His name eludes me?:hmmm::har:

AVGWarhawk 06-23-10 02:13 PM

Oh yes, Rezko is already in the big house. BO was good buddies with Rezko. Like I said...BO will be taking the stand.

They are all corrupt. Politician equals corruption and we all are drinking oily Kool-Aide. Stop the useless bickering over who's team is number one because they're all number two. :D

USA's corruption is bi-partisan.

It is about the only thing the Republicans and Democrats can agree upon it seems. :nope:

I wonder if there has ever been an elected government with political parties that was not filled with corruption?

Maybe there is no escaping it?

Agree about that one. I just don't like finger pointing. Pot calling the kettle and what not.

You didn't seem to have a problem doing just that in the Reagan thread. Now that the subject is a Democrat suddenly you've developed an aversion to finger pointing?
