Has Anyone Seen This Error Before?
 

All of a sudden I'm getting a CTD as the scenario loads. It happened with a career (nothing lost - just testing) and it happened with the Navigation School.

This is the message I get:

FIXED!

It turns out I had loaded a skin I like, but it actually changes the imbedded image for the Type VIIb, so it works under any other skin you apply. I figured out it was in the .dat file itself, so I copied the cool skin to a fresh .dat, with waterstreams, and all is now well. :sunny:

I had a strange error on my last install. the game kind of stopped but did not crash on loading so I hit Alt+Tab and seen a small error message that said something like " Menu ID not found" so I hit close and the box closed and 3 more popped up so I closed them but SH3 did not crash so I Hit Alt+Tab again and played for over an hour. It has not happened since I re-installed but I found it strange that it did not crash

That's a good one. I have no idea why it didn't crash for you. Glad that it didn't though.

In mine it made a "thunk" sound and stopped loading. When I Alt+Tabbed to see what happened I got that message. When I closed the message box the game shut down.

So I'm glad I found out what was causing it. :sunny:
