I wish they implement an open world like in SH and not just isolated locations.

Whilst I'd love to see that as well I think they just dont have the budget for it. It is better do do a small thing well that a big thing badly. On the reverse side of the coin I often wish the SH series had the much more detailed real world ports + depth charts of Ship sim.

I think that the best way to do this is to have a low detail whole world map like in SH and the ability to detail parts of it. The stock version would contain a few detailed places (as it is now) and it will be up to the modders to generate new content.

The downside is that you could have loading screens when you enter the detailed areas. But it would still be fun to be able to plot the whole course.

The issue to do that with this game is that there are alot of ports in the world, and you cant model them all, Plus they would have to model coast lines, and debth charts from all over the place. They perfer to do smaller areas, In detail.

See with FS games, they had a team do the globe, and all they had to do was add buildings (most of which were generic IIRC) and add a height Map.

(Plus I dont believe there engine is able to do that.)
