cfg file questions regarding resolution

well my question is how do i get a larger resolution to work with sh3. before i had the game installed on an entirly diffrent computer and my monitor had a max res of 1440x900 and all i did was go into documents and changed the res in the "main.cfg" file and in the file directory of the game on the hard drive. i also had the GWA installed also and it did fine the game looked great. now i have built a computer and run win 7 and i have a res of 1920x1080 and i tried to change the res and it wont work now. any body know whats up with that? i thought that maybe cuz it was an older game that it won't except high res like that so i also tried diffrent res's and none seem to work.

ok it did work but i had to do it a diffrent way than what that readme said. i didn't even have to run the bat or even exract it. all i did was extract the d3d.cfg file and i set my res and it worked finally. thanks for all your comments and info.
