Pilot Error, fuel problem or bug...
Okay, here's the thing...
I believe it was early January 1940, I was in grid AM02 ( I think ). We were minding our own business when all of a sudden 2 British fighter bomber came in sight... Now, the first plane flow right past us and the second one came in for a nose dive, Ihadn't ordered crash dive yet ( by the way, it was a windy day ) and as we were sailing the second plane just suddenly hit the water ??? No one was in manning the AA gun and the plane just hit the water ??? Has anyone experienced this and can anyone explain... Thanks in advance... |
Whenever that happened to me, it was under completely different circumstances. I just called it a bug.

- It rarely happens that aircraft collide in mid air and down a wingman.
- There may have been a friendly unit around that did the job. - Your 1WO is Chuck Norris' grandpa - staring at the fighter pilot. |
Wonder if Bernard has a British cousin:hmmm:

It was also close enough for me to see that it was a RAF craft... Oh and they didn't collide in mid air, they were clearly far apart keeping a constant distance from each other... |
You said it was windy, right? So that would mean that there were high waves, yes? The AI for the planes may not be all that sofisticated and may not be able to account for changes in surface elivation and missjudged the ground. Sounds to me like a wave reached up and grabed your attacker. Ether that or it was the Kraken!

GWX has such a large number of variables that one constantly experiences new events.
Almost like real life. |
You could be right about the pilot error, but the waves didn't reach out to the plane, but that would be interestly funny. Like Brag said about the variables but I wasn't using GWX at the time...
