I recommend you read a few of the reviews about SH5 and then make your own mind up. Try not to get caught up in the Pro/against arguments in the SH5 forums lol. |
Welcome back, Von Halley. :salute: We'll be getting back into action about the same time. I'm wating for my no SF disk to arrive. :D
|
if you like playing sh3 for the immersion and realism, dont get sh5.
|
Von, we regs and dregs are still here. For SH5, read a review. We are waaay too opinionated here, to the point of it being unhealthy.
|
Best to leave the SH 5 crowd and game alone here.
They are in their own private hell. Don't need any trolls coming over here again.:arrgh!: |
Old and new sea dogs mate...
And I Guess welcomes are in order, so welcome back :salute: |
Glad to see you are back. There are some old dogs still around.

SH5 is for kids,SH3 is for proper men!
Welcome back to the pack,
As has already been said steer clear of SH5 if you prefer realism and immersion over eye candy,as SH5 appears to have too many shortcomings for me to want to buy it,not being able to operate in any other U-Boat other than the type VIIs is wrong (unless they are now scrapping that idea?),and the apparent role playing system for the captain and crew? seems odd to be honest :06: It also seems that they have somewhat 'dumbed down' the overall game removing a lot of the technical detail and difficulty that was so appreciated in SH3 (with GWX3 of course) leaving us with a more 'arcade' feel to the game and not an experience where you actually FEEL like you are taking part in history, that is VERY bad! |

At least when SH3 was released they got it right then, and delivered what fans WANTED! they seem to have lost the plot now, most companies seem to have! Just like there was a golden age for movies I believe there was a golden age for gaming, and it all seemed to go downhill sometime after 2005,or thereabouts.Remember games like Doom, and Syndicate, and the UBER legendary X-COM games?! god they were the days! *sniff* I also love Sid Meir games, like Alpha Centauri, and the Civ series (III & IV mainly). LONG LIVE SH3! MAY HE CONTINUE TO PROSPER! |
