Problem with visual ranges

I just upgraded to 1.5 with UBM and tried some mods after which weird things started to happen.
Basically, not only does my watchcrew fail to see anything but equally I cannot conduct attacks either, due to a very limited visual range or something. I was just about to hit a nice convoy but suddenly couldn't ID or lock scope even from a range of 1500m:stare: There's like fog between us even though weather is absolutely clear. Noticed the same thing when leaving port. no watchcrew reports but didn't think much of it at the time.
What I did before was install/uninstall FOTRS (not my cup of tea, sorry) but it seems to have left behind some entries to recognintion manual anyway. Running mods now are
Ship Pack 1
Webster's Missing Voices
Natural Sinking Mechanics
Pacific Environment 4
Merchant Skinpack
Real Environment
Yes, I did all the install/uninstall stuff while at port and did it through JGSME. applying a mod at time and launching the game in-between installs.

I believe you need THIS mod to get RE working properly but I haven't used RE in a while and at that with SHIV 1.4

But Id be worried about 'mod soup' issues if FOTRS has remnants left behind.

Just noticed you have PE and RE, that cant be a good thing - many, most even, of the files between them will be shared.

I agree with Matt, PE 4 and Real Environment doesn't sound like a good mix.
Both very good mods but should only run one of them. Sounds like your problem.

Yes, run one env. I think the problem is with Real Env. Alone you can't see in fog, but there is a patch called lite fog fix for real env that corrected this problem.

Here is the mod..

You must run this after real env to correct the visuals. Don't run other env mods.

I volunteer to be the stick in the mud! I have struggled with all that and the only fix is to run without environmental mods at all. Gameplay is better than eye candy and environmental eye candy ALWAYS has bad effects on gameplay, unless they are a preexisting part of a supermod like RFB or TMO.

Only then can you be sure the game will play as intended.

Well, here's a brief update for now before anything actual has happened- I just left Brisbane. Yes, it seems very much it was a matter of mod soup. Now there're proper watchcrew reports, and I'm able to ID ships as I should, perviously I couldn't even lock the scope or UZO to anything. Can't say where's the culprit, one too many env mods or the LiteFog fix or cleanup after FOTRS. So far so good. I've practically always used env mods. They're not just for 'eye candy' but add to immersion quite a bit as well. Until now there never was a problem with so I've been quite happy with them. Thanks a bunch for advice, guys.

As I stated you must use the "Lite fog slow water mod "to correct the visuals with Real Env and then it will work fine....I listed in earlier.
