Help with grey wolves 3.0 gold
 

Hi there, new member to the forum. Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place, I have not had a chance to read through the forum as I am going to work in 5 minutes. I have installed the expansion on my vista pc. It loads the screen with the wolf and torpedo no problem. The progress bar fills and then I get a message saying " there Is a new (not implemented) page :<page ingame options> ! I click past this before getting a message saying "menu I'd not found: 0x1a000008! Any help would be most appreciated.

Did you install to a clean version of SH3?
Was it upgraded to 1.4?
Never modded and all that?

Your not patched to 1.4b....tis a common error.

I had the same problem and I thought that my copy of GWX 3 was corrupt.

Are the mods a problem with that if I install the expansion?

The expansion will not install correctly without the appropriate patch.

Thanks for all your help! As far as I am aware it is a clean version, I deleted and re-installed it. As for the patch, I did install version 1.4b but I did notice it say I had updated it to 1.3! very confusing!

So 1.3 is 1.4 b? So what am I doing wrong!

For whatever reason there is a typo error but in the simplest of terms, patch 1.3 is actually 1.4b.

Click on my sig, this will take you to the official GWX website, click on the Support tab and you will find comprehensive installation instructions for the Vista OS (I personally use XP Pro so do not profess to understand the Vista OS).

Tip: After uninstalling and before commencing a new/fresh install, perform a registry clean.

Thanks for that, I will try tomorrow and let you know. Maybe iam missing a file somewhere that needs to be deleted manually. Should I delete the grey wolves files also and then re install?

You need to delete EVERYTHING including your save files.

I would suggest you PM irish1958 for more technical advice because he either has Vista or used to have it.

Where did you d/l the GWX3.0 files from?

From the Subsim downloads page.

Try those from my FF account (link above my sig).

There are also alternatives for torrents if you prefer.
