Time is faster as you age, no?

I have the day off so I decided to plague you all with some drivel.

I've come to the conclusion that the reason the years seem to go by much faster when you get older, is that all the common experiences, the chores, food preparation, buying gas, run-of-the-mill work days, endless patrolling of the Pacific Ocean :D, sex with the wife :har:, get file compacted into one experience, and that time is lost from your perceptual timeline making the year seem shorter.

That seems to be how my brain works, but what of those who can remember everything?

This never gets compacted. In fact, it only gets better and more frequent as I age. I spend the rest of my free time with family recreation. The years actually seem longer much as my days because I rise early and go to bed late. Each day is a new experience. Time stay relatively constant for me.

Live Fast, f*ck hard, drink much, die young.

All of the above are interchangeable to match your situation.

Now where is my 36 oz beer mug?

I guess it's better than being plagued with locusts.:DL

They only seem to go faster because you take them for granted. The trick is to enjoy the little stuff.

That actually does go by really fast. It's not a matter of perception, it's just you:arrgh!:

I think you're right about that. If you let life get too routine, it'll be over before you know it. Throw a ball. Fly a kite. Join the chess thread I'm about to start. Take time to be a Dad today:up:

I wasn't going to say that even though it crossed my mind :haha:, but I really meant those people who do remember everything. What a burden and gift to carry that is.

It's the same. This seems to be a common assumption for why it happens, and is probably true.

However, when I made the same pitch to my dad way back when I was twenty-one, he said "No, that's not it at all. It's simple - once you get over the hill you pick up speed going down the other side!"

Life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer you get to the end,
the faster it goes.

Life is like a box of chocolates... by the time you really get into it, some other bastard already got all the good stuff. :haha:

My momma always said, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."'

As a person ages their perception of time changes as well.

Being hopelessly drunk and sleep deprived this is the only nugget of "wisdom" I have to offer to this discussion. Probably, in my intoxicated state, I have completely missed the point, the goal, the field and Buddahaids wife.

Actually, people are like a box of chocolates. You never know when you'll find a nut.:o

Yes time does fly as one ages. Only getting older will confirm that.
