What happened!?
Umm, Silent Hunter worked before. Then I tried to install JGME. Now, it gives me a "Menu ID not found: 0x42170006" error at the end of the loading bar. I'm in S. Korea, and my disc is in America, so what can I do?

Coping GSJME.exe into your SH4 folder should not have had any affect on your game. What else have your done?
|
What OS are you running and where did you install the game?

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.
The path is C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific/ I didn't copy JSGME.exe into the folder manually, I ran an install that I got from here and that prompted me to enter the path to my SH4 install. Now, I was under the impression that all the install would do is copy the files, but I didn't do it manually. |
The problem is Program Files folder. Install the game some were else directly on a drive. Win 7 protects Program Files too much and this causes problems when you try to mod the game.

I did manage to find my CD, just not the key. |
If you have the disc you don't need the key to reinstall if you are patched to 1.4 or have the U boat addition.
South Korea doesn't sound like the best place to be right now, better get it working you may need you boat to get home. :haha: Magic |

Thanks to everyone who helped! I'm back up and running in the USS Pike. I'm 4 days out of Manila in 1941 and I'm already up to 10K tons, all commercial.
On a related note, my 3000 meter bearing tool is off by about a 5:4 ratio of actual:displayed distance (So when it says the target is 800 meters, the target is actually 1000 meters). Anybody know what would cause that? |
