Dusted off the CD now having troubles
Greetings gang. I'm glad and impressed that the SH3 community is still rolling along.
I have a new computer since I played SH3 a couple years back and I'm having trouble getting things up and running. I am now running Windows 7 64 bit. I've been reading the other Win7 posts but it doesnt seem they refer to CD installs. I'm assuming I cannot change the setup.exe properties on the disk. I installed from the CD which appears to be version 1.0 according to the label. (How can I confirm this in game?) I installed to the folder listed below. The game seems to work fine at this point. But when I try to install the 1.4 patch I get this error... This program cannot update the installed version of SH3 US DVD v 1.0 to 1.3 because of the following reason. D:\ubisoft\silenthunterlll\MissionEngine.dll:unkno wn version. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks! Headbang |
Dam Sorry Nevermind 1.4 was what was on the disk. Now I'll see if I can install the mods properly.
Thanks anyway Headbang |
Not the first time it's happened, just be happy the solution was that simple! :DL
Good hunting, Herr Kaleun! |
Sorry to revive this thread, but how did you find out you had the 1.4b on the disk ??
I am having the same issue and can't find anything anywhere describing I am currently running 1.4b. Thanks. |
Right-click on the SH3.exe file (in the game's base-folder), and look in the details tab. It has the version number there. It doesn't allways work for other applications but Ubi got it right.

Or right click on the SH3 .exe icon and select properties then the version tab.
Even quicker hover your cursor over the .exe and the information will appear in a text box. |
