Needle in a haystack

Blockade of Germany

I have found and sunk 5 troop carriers without the unrealistic camping outside the lock, all sunk out to sea mid transit to iceland... no probs what so ever!

Been looking for the carrier group for approximately 2 full patrols now, and starting to get properly fooked off with going round in circles, (im in the carrier patrol zone as dictated by the game) and have even resorted to infiltrating Plymouth and sinking the Ark Royal. A very unsatisfying experience to say the least.

This is now my second career on 100% DiD, have been unable to locate this elusive task force.

My questions to you are as follows:

1: Have you actually ever seen it?
2: Have you sunk it?
3: Approximately where in the patrol zone did you find it
4: Does the carrier only patrol for certain time periods in the war? or is it constantly patrolling untill Happy Times?
5: Is this carrier really an easter egg hidden off the coast of the okinawa islands?
6: Where do baby pigeons come from?

Thank you in advance for any and all answers.

Yes
2: Have you sunk it?
Yes but I wasn't on the mission lol
3: Approximately where in the patrol zone did you find it
West of Cornwall - in the high shipping area where you need to sink merchants for the 2nd mission
4: Does the carrier only patrol for certain time periods in the war? or is it constantly patrolling untill Happy Times?
No idea
5: Is this carrier really an easter egg hidden off the coast of the okinawa islands?
Possible
6: Where do baby pigeons come from?
Baby pigeon eggs?

Thank you in advance for any and all answers.

1: yes
2: yes; but let a lot of other targets go otherwise I would have run out of fish long before I found it.
3: in the SW of the circular "carrier" patrol zone that comes up when you click on the mission's map icon. I actually got a hint from a Swordfish torpedo plane --> followed his heading.
4: I don't know
5: Good question :haha:
6: Storks

I have followed a few planes that i have seen out in the patrol zone but to no avail, it is also difficult to tell if he is returning or heading out on a patrol.

Typically whining about something not happening makes it happen, to that end i can report fleet carrier sunk at Long 8' 50'W Lat 47' 59'N. I received a task force report to the north, intercepted at the above Location and put my last 3 for torpedoes into the side of the flat top, although one was enough to ignite the whole thing in an unrealistic blazing inferno.

Cant wait for the next find the ship in the ocean mission!

I have redone the mission a few times, due to the fact i failed to complete some and it reset me.

Anyway i have managed to find the carrier buy simply sitting in the middle of the patrol area, it seems to go from the east to the west.

i found mine heading due east at the coordinates stated above, i seem to recall 17 knots which to me seemed a slightly unrealistic speed for a carrier?

Baby pigeon eggs?
Well actually that is a bit difficult, since it is almost impossible for baby pigeons to lay eggs, so the main science! agreement and dogma is that they come from mother pigeon eggs.
Altough it might be possible that deep in the Amazon an undiscovered species may be able to do this, but unlikely.

On the other hand, genetically modified birds may be able to do this, but also very unlikely due to the anatomy of House.

The main question we all subsimmers raise: do you know more?

Tell us or face the consequences!

I found a carrier group by Portsmouth sunk the carrier, thinking your not the one, and fed up wanting to sink something, so I did and it counted:o

thats lucky then i sunk the carrier in Plymouth and it didnt count.. Portsmouth is even further east and therefore greater distance from the carrier patrol zone. Maybe the carrier was the one from the patrol zone gong to Pompy for a refit or something?

swampa 05-27-10 05:08 PM

next patrol returning home just past Plymouth. I am almost sure another carrier group came past no visual just the same formation on map heading east, too fast to intercept
