Rain gear for watch crew when it rains....:hmmm:

Jan Kyster 05-19-10 02:56 AM

We have tampered with the stormy settings, have we not? :stare:

:rotfl2:

I'm certain you setting for StormConditions is set too high...
Have a check in Data\Submarine\NSS_xxxx\NSS_xxxx.cfg (xxxx is your subname) and look in section [Properties].StormConditions...

Hope that helps?

They do have rain gear

I assume you're talking about the U.S. crews? They already do switch to heavy jackets when it rains as opposed the sou'westers etc that the German crews wear.

If your using RFB and TMO, they certainly do when it rains, but they don't do it in general bad weather like they did in SH3 - is that what you were meaning?

If so, I'm not sure if anyone's found a way to force them to.

I think that the settings in the CrewMembers3D.upc file aren't really recognised by the game properly.

The determining factor as to when the crew dons their foul weather gear seems to be a rain event only. I feel it should be as in SH3, where when the wind speed reached a certain velocity, the crew was in foul weather gear. I've had plenty of high winds and heavy seas with no rain, and the bridge gets swamped. Looks rediculous not to see the crew in foul weather gear during these times.

Another oddity I've noticed (mabey it's just me) is that if you save a game during a rain event, and load the save again, it's still raining but the crew is not wearing their raingear. I've tried to manually drag them below and replace them topside, but no luck. The problem is when you check the weather report, it says "no rain", even though it clearly is still raining.

Gents I have never seen my crew in foul weather gear or rain gear....:hmmm:

Clay you mean you don't see the foul weather gear even when it's actually raining?:hmmm: That dosn't sound right. Just to be clear, you don't see the "oilskins" like the Germans have, but rather heavy Navy blue jackets.

Clay, but what is the value of your selected boat's "StormCondition"?

I'm pretty sure it works as in SHIII... but I have been wrong before :D
