Spawning down in South-Afrika when I'm supposed to go from Germany?
Hi!
I have a problem, when I am playing my career I have made it to the third patrol. But, whenever I try to start the new patrol I start all the way down by south-Afrika in the FG area (where the colored lines cross). I tried to drive the boat back to Wilhelmhaven in germany and managed this but when I started to fourth patrol the same thing happened again! All the way down to south-afrika... I am using: - GWX 16km Atmosphere - Fubars VIIB Plain - GWX Integrated orders (this is the last mod I activated, might be this) Need help! Thanks in advanche, John. |
next time you are in port, request a base change and see if that fixes it.
you are spawning at 0'-0"N 0'-0"W which is the default starting point if the game doesnt know where to put you. it seems that there has been a mix up as to where you are supposed to be based. |

Looking forward to what the fix is, or if it has happened to others.:o |
Have you checked the name of your helmsman?
|
Are you positive those are the only mods you've enabled?

I don't remember all the details but it happened to me with a Med career. Prior to a patrol from La Spezia, I got the message that my base has changed form La Spezia to Toulon. IIRC, I was able to leave La Spezia ok, but I saved after a while. When I loaded later on I was at 0 degree N, 0 degree W as well.
I ended up transfering bases the old fashioned way. I just sailed from La Spezia to Toulon, ended the patrol in Toulon and started my next patrol from Toulon. Everything worked fine since. That makes me wonder if OP's problem is a base transfer issue. You might want to look at the order screen and see if the start and finish bases are different. Maybe you got a base transfer prior to your patrol and didn't realize it. :) |
just go to your 'before mission' save, its a bug that causes you to spawn at 0,0.

It happened to me a looong time ago. Based in La Spezia I somehow got to Atlantic near the Equator. Chnaged base to someplace else and haven't returned to Med.

Well of course it is. Long story short, tradition hereabouts is to blame any problems on "Bernard" - he's the guy on the crew who can't do anything right. If your torpedoes are all duds, it's because Bernard was your chief torpedo mate. If the deck gun crew can't hit the broad side of a barn at 400m, it's because Bernard is either firing the thing himself or was in charge of maintaining the weapon (or both). If a destroyer manages to sneak up behind you while you're watching that burning tanker go down, it's because Bernard was the watch officer on duty. And if you find yourself sailing off the coast of Africa when you should be off the coast of Germany... well, you guessed it. Navigator Bernard, at your service! |

Ironic because it is the base of this website. It was a story that Dowly put up, oh gosh, 4 or 5 years ago? |
