I believe that it only works for the operation drumbeat mission (where you have to go to America. Other than that its a non starter.

well that's me F*ecked , I ran out of fuel ! Question when you go on a mission what is the normal default speed you use to get to the patrol area ?

I left WH and went onto station off of Iceland , I had the speed set at No2 is that slow ahead but on my new boat that's 10kts. From Germany at Slow Ahead (No2) to Iceland used up nearly 30% of my fuel.

Do you set your speed with 1 to 5 setting or set the speed yourself , I don't have any engineer abilites on other than the default and in my new boat No2 gets 10knts and No5 gets about 19knt in decent weather , is that no a lot faster than these boats could do ???

It works on other missions too. (late war). Was trying out the "black pit" and stumbled across a task force.

Bagged a carrier, BB and a couple of cruisers, which left my tubes all empty.

Called for a re-supply, and a marker was placed on the map. Toodled on over, and got a full sub of eels.

It makes sense to always reject it in the early missions what with the german fleets being blockaded most of the time and doing their best to avoid the royal navy. Only safe areas are very close to port, at which point I assume you are expected to dock yourself anyway.

As for out of fuel I read somewhere that you can drift on 0 fuel. If you lay in a course and dive the ship will move by the water currents, you will have to surface to clear the air periodically, but you can (veeeery slowly) make it back.

We need someone to do a Oars mod with the crew singing 'Row Row Row Yer Boat'.
