Does it always do it? Or only with a specific saved game at a specific time?
I had a CTD when I tried to use the USO after loading a specific saved game and waiting (doing something else) for a few minutes. I resolved it by simply turning my boat around and heading off into a different direction.
Funny thing was, there was no error... it just dropped me to the desktop, like somebody killed the process. *shrug*
In your case, I'd assume the log was corrupted somehow, so it might be a good idea to swap out to an earlier saved game if you got one handy.
