The World Health Organization is moving full speed ahead with a controversial plan to impose billions of dollars in global consumer taxes on such things as Internet activity and everyday financial transactions like paying bills online — while its spending soars and its own financial house is in disarray.

I dont know how to break this to you but that is a local tax not a 'global' tax. The global tax will be on top of that.

Thanks, that was blunt. :rotfl2:

The whole thing sounds silly to me.

They never stop looking for ways to take money from poor people in "rich" (indebted) countries, and give it to rich people in poor countries.

Translation: Redistribution of wealth, out of western countries.

I say again, piss on the UN.

You know I looked, and I couldn't find mention of the UN or the WHO in The Constitution. Someone should tell them that. :shifty:

Exactly.

Thresher 05-11-10 07:12 PM

The UN/WHO can kiss my stern. :shucks:

CaptainHaplo 05-11-10 07:14 PM

What is this "Constitution" your on about? Surely some esoteric, historical document that can't have much bearing on the actions of a modern, global society.

You are part of the global society, right? Otherwise - your anti-social and might need to be locked away for your own good.

Ok - I scare me when I think about how the other side really thinks....

I wonder if any of you even read WHO resolution 61.21 before posting or are you just taking the fox news opinions as fact?

Seeing as how the WHO has no sovereignty over me or my fellow Americans, and never will..., does it really matter what they say about anything?

If you are going to comment on a thread on the subject, yeah, it does matter.

And do you know that the WHO has been talking about this since 2004 and nothing has come of it? The WHO can recommend all they want. That's their job. But a recommendation from the WHO means precisely dick, when it comes to enacting legislation in the United States for taxation.

fox news is just trying to get people stirred up again. I would not worry too much about this. :nope:
