Question

I've recently gotten back into Silent Hunter after a hiatus. I never really played on high realism before, but I'm prepared to dive straight back into it. What would be the best steps, in your opinion, for easing myself into high realism gameplay?

WELCOME ABOARD!:sunny:

I would take it easy. Try some realism mods, then try turning on realistic everything, one at a time. Finally work your way into manual targeting if you so desire.

I'm fairly fine with most elements of the realism, the only thing I am really dreading is trying my hand at manual torpedo targeting. I've never been too good at maths.

Neither am I. I still use the Weapons Officer assistance, and do some little things like taking several sightings in an approach, so they at least have a chance to see my periscope.

I recommend OLC GUI. You will be able to get accurate range/AOB readings from it. Just watch the videos on how to use it

Manual targeting proficiency will come naturally...in time.

I'd be trying one of the supermods to get the maximum immersion/enjoyment out of the game.

No prizes for guessing my choice. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif
