Never played the first Half-Life, but I'm going through the second and its episodes. And I agree, the last few Halo games were hyped up and loaded with praise, and I was expecting more from ODST's campaign. (I thought they'd have something more epic, but instead we get to run around an empty city for 6 hours :shifty:)

The first Half life is a classic. If you get the chance to play it, you should. Especially since it's only like 4 dollars on steam. :haha: The two expansions of sorts, although don't really tie into the Half Life 2 story, are also great.
If you have Half Life 2 on the computer, there is Half Life Source, which is pretty much Half Life 1 with the water from Half Life 2. Although there is a full conversion mod being made remaking the whole game with better graphics, and physics.

There is no estimated release for it though. Its been in progress for atleast 4 years.
My main problem with Halo is its very like Half Life in the following ways:
- Man in Armor suit that has a female voice. The main difference being the suit in Halo actually has a personality.
- In the first games you fight one group of aliens, who end up helping you in the second game(or was it the third game where the Covenant help?)
- They both have a race of aliens that make zombies, who attack everyone.
There was more but I forgot. :haha: If you do play through Half life 2 and the episodes, make sure to play Portal, it'll tie into episode 2 and 3 in a way.
