[EXP] Start a Campaign with VIIB. This is very experimental
Hello :DL
New version start a new career with VIIB sub. Enble with jsgme and start a new career . thanks to Kromus for help. FFlink http://www.filefront.com/16342185/New_%20Start_VIIB.7z Subsim link http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...=1819&act=down .................................................. ................................... .................................. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=1968 .................. |
Personally like i said many times. I would like to see a "historical correct" VIIB model before i would ever get a VIIB in the campaign.

The easiest way (that worked at least for me) is just edit ....\data\UPCDataGE\UPCCampaignData\CareerOptions. upc in your main game directory (Silent hunter 5)
[CareerOptions 1] ID= TotalGermany39 [CareerOptions 1.Flotilla 1] ID= C1Flotilla1 NameDisplayable= 2. Unterseebootsflottille IDLinkFlotilla= 2ndFlotilla ; link to ID in Flotilla upc file IDLinkUserPlayerUnits= F2VIIA, 1 FlotillaBriefingText= FlotillaCommonality= 1 where you simply edit F2VIIA to F2VIIB, C or whatever. And start a new campaign. |

Edit: Here`s CareerOptions.upc that works for most ppl (filefront is currently down for me) http://www.filefront.com/00016127837...Submarine.rar/ |

I think I have got it now
So if you edit "CareerOptions" file you need to edit "Flotillas" file too,
otherwise there coud be conflict and CTD. like this ................................... "CareerOptions" file [CareerOptions 1] ID= TotalGermany39 [CareerOptions 1.Flotilla 1] ID= C1Flotilla1 NameDisplayable= 2. Unterseebootsflottille IDLinkFlotilla= 2ndFlotilla ; link to ID in Flotilla upc file IDLinkUserPlayerUnits= F2VIIB, 1 .. here was F2VIIA :DL FlotillaBriefingText= FlotillaCommonality= 1 ................................... "Flotillas" file [Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 1] ID= F2VIIB .......was F2VIIA NameDisplayable= Type VIIB U-boat .....was VIIA AvailabilityInterval= NULL, 1941-01-01 IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIB .....was VIIA UnitTypeCommonality= 4 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL .................................. So Kromus maybe your "flotillas" file is edited like that too, otherwise there could be a conflict . And thanks a lot for pointing me to to this.:salute: |
New version
Hello :DL
New version ............first post edited start a new career with VIIB sub. Enble with jsgme and start a new career . thanks to Kromus for help. FFlink http://www.filefront.com/16342185/New_%20Start_VIIB.7z Subsim link http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...=1819&act=down |
@Cvk
Thx for reminding me, here`s my "Flotillas.cfg" I`ve edited long time ago when I was trying to make VIIC historically accurate (9-11/1940). http://www.filefront.com/16344067/Flotillas.upc VIIC should be working here as intended but I didn`t have a chance to get her since I didn`t get so far in campaign yet. 1.2 patch should make VIIC historically accurate anyway |

About VIIC "flotillas file" [Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 2] ID= F2VIIC ....... So in "CareerOptions" file it should be IDLinkUserPlayerUnits= F2VIIC, 2 :DL as it is UserPlayerUnitType 2 ..right? |

F2VIIB 1 or F2VIIB 2
It does not seem to matter I tested F2VIIC 1 and F2VIIC 2 and both worked :DL
