Did I hit a mine?
 

After sneaking away from a curious RN destroyer I was in my IIA at 22m doing 4kts about 150km ENE of Hull when every compartment on the boat suddenly took damage. Tower and radio room wrecked. Everthing else damaged and flooding everywhere. Immediately sank to the bottom and all hands drowned a few minutes later. I did have a guy at the sonar station doing sweeps and we'd lost the destoryer about an hour ago. Blowing the tanks didn't shift me either.

Since you were already at depth it's not likely you got bombed and/or depth charged by an aircraft. You didn't mention what TC you were running at, but the two likely culprits were either running into a shoal or into a mine.

Ouch, I remember when I operated around there. Tons of mines.
