SUBSIM Radio Room Forums - hello, new sub captain!

Hi, I'm new here. I'm 39 years old, married with 1 daughter. Been playing computer games since the days of the Sinclair ZX81! I've been tempted to buy a sub sim for a long time, but never got round to it until now, I have downloaded SH5 (what a pain that was, the UBI registration is a total PITA - I almost gave up)

I was totally lost for the first few hours, but am gradualy getting the hang of things - I have completed all but 1 part of Total Germany (the one I struggle with is the 5 warships & carrier mission)

this morning I started using TDC for the first time, not managed to make it hit yet, I suspect I borked it by promoting my torp man - so I'm downloading the fixes to see if that makes it better.

SH5 is a great game despite the astonishing amount of bugs in it - the thing that annoys me is that I cannot believe that they didnt notice these bugs before releasing the software - just playing the first mission all the way through would have identified most of them - they are hardly obscure.

But anyway, I'm enjoying the experience so far! :arrgh!:
