First loss of crew :dead:
 

I had my first batch of K.I.A tonight (except for being sunk) since starting playing Sh3.

I made a stupid mistake of surfacing right next to an ASW and his gunfire at point blank range took out 8 of my crewmen.

The ASW rammed us a few times and that combined with previous torpedo damage meant he quickly headed to the bottom after I did a crash dive myself.

Im still amazed at myself for making such a basic error! :nope::oops::doh:

That's nothing - Last patrol I duked it out with a PBY, and later on surfaced next to 2 armed merchants. Finally tally: 10 dead, 3 wounded. :dead:

He sunk?, and you didn't??

was a bit wrong by saying he "rammed" me :-? - he just ran into me and was scraping against my hull - I suffered superficial damages other than loss of crew & flack guns. I did manage a few pops at him with my deck gun which I think finished him off after I had previously torpedoed him

I'm using gwx3 btw - if it were stock, i'm sure the torpedo wld have ripped him into two/three pieces, but it didn't go off adj. to the ideal spot! :shifty:

What where you doing anywhere near the surface with a DD prowling around?? :-?

Might have been an ASW trawler, or a sub chaser.

Well that encounter with the ASW killed us ALL on u-65 in the end!! I encountered a convoy in NE ireland, near belfast and was noticed by a flower class corvette who opened fire upon me. I crash-dived and we became crushed as we passed 65mtrs. :dead:

I will have to start my third career later next week - doesn't look like I will get chance much before next thursday though :nope:
