i'm following all the dosbox guides,
have mounted c drive, just can't seem to cd to game folder, which is sitting on my desktop????
dosbox is saying "unable to change to...:
game folder name is "aotd"
i'm typing into dosbox: cd aotd
then it spits out the error message above?
what am i doing wrong?
Win 7 64-bit O.S.

Feuer Frei! 04-27-10 11:51 PM

Well, someone posted a great tip!
Drag the dos game exe onto the dosbox exe and all will be done automatically!
It works!
only problem is that aotd runs in a very small window?
dosbox window only, i can't make window bigger!
workaround to make window bigger?

This may sound stupid, but have you tried Alt+Enter? If you use D-Fend Reloaded, that should work.

Feuer Frei! 04-28-10 12:25 AM

Thanks IanC
it works.

Wondering now about the resolution though, she looks mighty pixelated lol, at 24" wide :O:
Any way to reduce that you think?
Or adjust my resolution on monitor first, before running game?

With D-Fend Reloaded they let you play around with the resolution. You might have to test a few of them, I tried getting a higher rez but nothing really worked. I found that setting it to "original resolution" was the best anyways.

Man, this thread makes me feel like making myself a coffee and loading up AOD...

Feuer Frei!,

After mounting your c drive, did you remember to change the drive from Z to C?

Just asking, because DosBox starts opens with the Z: drive active, and sometimes I am in a hurry and I forget to change the drive to c:

So, of course, it won't find what I am looking for on the Z: drive.

What do you think i'm doing now? :DL
The familiar call of: "Smoke on the Horizon, Captain" sent a wave of warmthness through me, dam, it's been too long.

Yea, i sure did, got past the "mount c c:" stage, then "c:" to get into c mode, then tried to go into my game folder as per instctns....said "unable to blah blah..."
i gave up, after the quick easy way of doing it, see previous post for tip.
