Modders I salute you! Official Modders Day

Guys, i would love to be able to make a mod, even a very small one but the programmes you use and screenshots which you post are a total mystery to me.
Did you guys learn how to do this stuff because someone showed you how or did you just play with it and eventually master it. Do you have to be technically minded because when I see these lines of information and values, I don't even know where to start.

Through your hard work and tremendous skill, SHV is becoming an excellent game. Your dedication to your craft is admirable. Without you, all Silent Hunters would be nothing.

To all you modders, no matter what you have made, from the smallest mod to GWX and everything in between I salute you Sirs, and declare 24th April 2010 "Official World Modders Day"

Totally approved! Without your work I would have sold my PC for a long time ago to buy a Mac (I only play SH5 after have played SH3 and SH4 for years).

:salute:

I agree.....they dedicate their time (hrs and hrs) without monetary reward.

They are dedicated to making SH5 better than it is, just as they did for SH3 and SH4.

Too bad that Ubi does not have them on their staff.

Ubisoft should use them for "consultants". They would sell more sims.

:yeah:

Indeed, some things are devilishly hard to find/change, but thanks for the props, we do enjoy our work tho, at least I do.

Well done to modders...
regardless of the size and significance, all of the work is important and appreciated by all end-users.

Orbitchicken 04-25-10 09:49 AM

Yep, all you modders take a minute to sit back and say to yourselves 'I rock'

A big thanks for all your time and efforts in making things a lot better for everyone :salute:

Modders...one should rather say that the Silent Hunter series has the larges group of developers of any game ever (and the longest development time). Hehe, a modder would be someone who changes a finished product! Sadly, that's not at all the case with Silent Hunter. Anyway, you're right, all modders/final developers are really doing a great job. :yeah:

By the way, to the initial question of how the modders know what to do: For me modding various games it's been trial and error...many errors...but in the end it comes together, and you're left a little bit wiser. :know:
