[TEC]Getting hydrophones to work on the surface.

Hi, I'm wondering how do I tweak the hydrophones to work on the surface.Yeah,I know it's cheating and unrealistic and all that jazz.Just want some pointers on how to do it.
SH3 v1.4
GWX3.0

You have S3D.
Mess with the settings!
All you can do is screw up.

If you have a contact you don't actually need to tweak anything. Just get your sound guy to lock onto the contact and follow him then surface. He'll happily keep reporting until you either sink it or lose contact.

I have often wondered if the subs' hydrophones would work on the surface in real life. Do the surface ships have accurate hydrophones? Or just active sonar?
If so, why wouldn't the sub's also work on the surface.
location of sensor?

You know... I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that US Fleet Boats had both a "Top-Side" and a "Bottom-Side" hydrophone set and that under the right conditions, they could pick up hydrophone contacts while surfaced. :hmmm: But, if I'm not mistaken, the U-Boats only had a "Top-Side" hydrophone set which wouldn't give them the same opportunity... But I'm not an expert, so don't quote me on that... ;)
