Has anyone been transfered to Scotland?
I got promoted, so I decided it was time for a new base. I put in for a transfer and Scotland cam up! Has anybody done this area yet?

Scotland from the Pacific?????
:timeout: :06:

That will be one long transit from Scotland to the Japanese coast.
It would be cooleo to take the sub through the Suez though. :yeah: |
Okay, so I saved my career and tried out the Scotland transfer, here's what happened.:haha:
It still asigned me to patrol in Guadalcanal:har:. All on the European cities are blue (friendlies), and I sailed straight into the uboat bunker. (It spawns no ships on this side of the map.:timeout: Glad I saved my game and took the gig at Pearl.:woot: |

If you want activity in the Atlantic, you'd have to go with an RFB + RSRDC + OM install. At that point, you'd have plenty of stuff shooting at you.
Of course you could always go hunting for the Bismark on it's way to Lorient. ;) |
Scotland from stock or mod?
I'm wondering if your transfer was from the stock game or what mods you were using at the time.

He's probably running an earlier version of TMO, or somehow reactivated subron 50 in TMO.
Subron 50 is an atlantic squadron of fleet submarines that was stationed in roseneath scotland. (6 gato's and 1 tender to be exact ) Info on that here: http://www.subvetpaul.com/SAGA_6_98.htm I deactivated it because. a.) People were getting new commands of gatos and getting sent to scotland instead of pacific bases. b.) I didn't have enough time to do the campaign right. It was a larger project that i realized at first, and i got over ambitious. What i had was rather barren, and not really worth spending time playing. The files still reside in TMO, they just aren't active. I deactivated it by starting and disbanding the squadron before the US entered WW2, so its "predated out" of play. |
I thought someon did a stand alone of Subron. Was it Lurker? Neat idea to have in TMO. I can understand the undertaking was too much when other things had to be done first.

Good Read
Thanks, Ducimus, for the link to the story of Barb.
It was interesting. I always enjoy first-hand accounts. The 'official' information leaves out a lot of everyday things. |
I've got the latest installment of TMO and RSRD. I doesn't matter, I want to play in the Pacific anyway.:D
