[WIP]AilHull
Working in this right now:
http://shmods.ailantd.com/shots/SH-V/AilHull_01.jpg I´m changing hull bump textures, so the effect is light dependant. Note that intensity of effect it is not final. Problem is that developers used bump right oriented in one side of sub, and inverted in the oposite side, wich is good to save memory, but never should be done in normal mapping textures without made a different shader in code to handle that. Of course this is not the case and in the oposite side effect it is not so good. Sometimes I would like to know who was the person to make that such crapy decisions and why. Anyway it looks more realistic than vanilla so it is coming soon. |
Sweet..............................:shucks:Good job again.

I may be wrong, but I remember reading somewhere, some time ago, that submarines getting their skin pressed in, showing the ribs etc as bumps on the surface was more of an issue with WW2 American subs, than with German. I'm not sure why, different construction? Different operating depths? Anyway, I remember seeing many pictures of Gato class subs with this skin thing, but I don't recall having actually seen a single one of a German type VII.
Is it just me remembering wrong, or is there something to this? |

Nice this is another awesome modder discovery

Something like this was already done in SH3. If it forces any skin used with it to look like that, then I'm all for it.:sunny:
