Do you think SH5 will work on my computer?
 

I'm still standing back watching what is going to happen with this game, but before I even think about getting it I am wondering if you guys think it will even run on my computer. I've looked at the requirements on the SH5 site, and *think* it may work but am not sure. Here are the minimum specs from the SH5 site:

CPU: Intel® Core2Duo® E4400 or AMD® Athlon™ 64 X2 4000+ or higher
Operating System: Windows® XP (with Service Pack 3) or Windows Vista® (with Service Pack 2)
RAM: 1 GB (XP) / 2 GB (Vista)
DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM speed 4x, dual-layer drive
Minimum Drive Space: 10 GB
Video Card: 256 MB DirectX® 9.0c-compliant video card (ATI® Radeon HD2600/GeForce® 8800 or better)
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c-compliant sound card
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (included on disc

Here's my specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+
OS: Windows XP Pro with SP3
RAM: 2GB
DVD Drive: DVD with Dual Layer
Video Card: XFX Geforce 8600GT

I think I'm thinking wishfully here, but am just curious about your thoughts.

Well that's very very close to what I've got (absolutely identical other than mine is a 3800+), and I'm not going to bother without an upgrade.

I'm guessing it would run like a dog, but that's a guess, considering it's not even meeting the minimum requirements for processor and video card memory.

It will be a struggle.

Don't EVER bother with minimum system requirements on any game.
Why "crawl" through a game with lowest settings, 5-10 fps, and so forth, when one should ALWAYS exceed a game's min. requirements... and play it like it should be played....maxed!!! :up:

Syxx, I have a close/similar computer to yours and even though it will run on your computer, it's UNPLAYABLE on any settings possibly (low med high).:salute:

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. My computer still works for everything I need of it, so I'm not going to get a new computer just for one game. I still got SH4 that I am more than happy with. I was just wondering what SH5 would have been like on here.

That's exactly what I'm doing, playing SH4 + OM,OMEGU and everything is mighty fine :up:
