[WIP] Type IX Interiors

Well its a quiet Easter sunday so its as good a time as any to post a work in progress thread for the type 9 interiors.

Theres not much to see yet ive just got a few untextured test renders which arent worth posting but modelling is going a bit more smoothly this time round thanks to U-505 and its virtual tour which is great for reference. Plus i can reuse some of the stuff from the type 7:up:

As with the type 7 it`ll not include the torpedo rooms, i did some testing of my own with the torpedo rooms added in the type 7 and the strain on the engine was too much, plus a lot of people were already having odd memory issues even without the extra rooms so i figure its best to leave it.

I`ll keep this thread updated in the days to come...

do you think you would ever release a version of type 7 with the torpedo rooms for people with better systems?:D

Im not sure, the memory problem didnt seem to relate to how good a system you had, i could run the interiors on an old 512Mb xp machine that barely met the requirements for sh3 and have no problems while people with really good systems with 4Gb+ ram were struggling with random crashes etc.

You could release them with the disclaimer that there is no guaranty that they will work on all systems.:hmmm:

Hi Flakmonkey,

great to read that You´re working on the type IX interiors! :yeah:
Especially for me as a type IX fan!
I´ve got some interior photos, mainly from U-190 and U-889 and several others. Please let me know if there are of any use for your work.

Beste Grüsse, Kurfürst

Looking eagerly forward to hear about the release of this mod. Yours on type 7 is one of the mods I've ever enjoyed most, FM! Thanks very, very much!

Hi, Flatmonkey,

Happy to use your excellent Typ VII interior and, as the question mentionned before, don't you think it would be better to "look at" typ VII torpedo room ?

Yes, seems it would need a powerful machine, but that would be the ultime part of SH3's typ VII interior not realized yet, do you agree ?
