Heh, it was used as an April Fools. The poster attempted to portray the game as Silent Hunter 5.1 for the Xbox 360. I don't think many fell for it.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think this might be serious. It doesn't refer to SH5.1 (the April Fools joke) or UBI, or anything like that. Check out the link. Sounds like it might actually be a legit game to me. From 505 Games:

Sure seems like the real thing.... "jettison debris" :o So an XBox game can mannage that but not SH5? :damn:

Meh, I aint got no XBox. Don't want one either. Interesting though.

It is serious. "Naval Assault: Killing Tide" is a new game in development for Xbox 360, to be released mid-June.

It's being touted as "arcade action in a WWII submarine"...

Can't wait to see if it sells more copies than SH5! After all even if an action sub game, it's still an obscure theme for a game. Maybe we should hope for good sales so others start to take a look at making sub games in general.

If it sells more than SH5, then you can bet the next SH game will include cool new features such as health packs and laser guided torpedoes.

Hmm...
SH5 seems to be less than good without plenty of mods, and I own an X-Box 360... :hmmm:

Time to wait and see if Ubisoft (and/or modders) can get SH5 more shipshape before June 15, or if I will have to look to that alternative source for a new sub game experience, and then stick with SH3&4 for working sub sim of choice.

At least its not Warship Gunner 2, which has (some) sub combat. It has health packs, but skips the laser guided torpedoes for laser guided... lasers... :dead:
and torpedo spam... and spamming of torpedo spam....

Hopefully, the SH series will never go that route... sure, one type of game might lean a little toward another, but I can agree things can just go horribly wrong when you take one type of game and make it fit into another type and don't do things right. (like mixing an FPS with a section that is poorly done stealth game where failure means instant loss, or an action game where your army slaying super soldier is defeated by a 5ft fall of a poorly tossed in platform jumping section...)
