Northcaucasean (no racism intended) freedom fighters (tm) and emissaries of the religion of peace (c) that want to pacify the region.

I just wait for the first conspirationaliseristas to claim it was Putin.

Oh no . . .:nope:

Terrorism gains popularity since 9/11. And now must be some kind of a trend.

It's like feeding a forum troll.

For the love of ... People died on that Metro and all you can think of us Skybird's academic critique of Islam. Don't you think that no matter the cause or inclination of individuals who did this, it is this a ghastly and repulsive act against which we should fight, as we do against any sort of human action which brings death.

Yes, which is entirely at odds with those who say anything goes when it comes to conflict, people shouldn't worry about the nicities or leagalities of conflicts but just kill until the job is done.
If anything goes then blowing up trains full of commuters is all fine and dandy.

I just heard the news wish is more of the same. Fanatics can`t take out the president so they pick on citizens instead.
RIP for the victims....................................

Jimbuna 03-29-10 05:07 PM

I feel for the victims and their families :nope:

More people should listen to The Beatles.

nikimcbee 03-29-10 11:31 PM

Committing acts of violence against innocent people for what some other people did to another group of people in another place and time.

What kind of logic is that? :nope:

Just a bunch of innocent minions schlepping to work. What a senseless stupid act of violence and hatred. :nope:

Clever lad! Playing that song on the drums is very entertaining btw!

On a more serious note, what a terrible thing this is...I'm also surprised that this hasn't had a bigger impact on the world, maybe it's just me, but it really feels like people aren't taking any particular interest in this. (For starters, we're still at page 1 on this thread!)

Maybe because people here follow the worlds developments and this was expected.

The mostly local Tchechen conflict has now engulfed the whole Caucasus.
Also Ingushia and Dagestan have been areas of recruitment for a long time to these radical islamist groups.

They have become more global with support coming from the Afganistan drug trade and foreign donators.
As a result their objectives have transformed from local separatism to include the whole muslims population in Russia.

That is one reason they strike Moscow reguralry, to spread the open conflict to the other rebublics, main target could be oil rich Tatarstan.
There is no way to stop these strikes without killing and expelling all muslims from Russia.

The Russians took this relatively calmly, well Putin used rather colourful language, the Moscow metro is going to be full like before.
The 2004 Moscow metro bombing killed 50 people, and how many other strikes have there been?

The thing to follow here is if the conflict spreads to the other rebuplics that have separationist aspirations. Then it will grow to a new level and will really become one of the hotspots of global Jihad.
