Need advice on emergency lifebuoy color
 
Hi, guys i am presently doing the texture for type IIA and some book i have, mention that the white&red lifebuoy was paint in black in wartime any clues if this is right???

I've got an E-book somewhere that said the same thing.
But some b/w pictures I've seen suggest a grey color
may have been used.
Cause it does not stand out that much.

Thank Privateer that what i was thinking i will go for a medium gray.:salute:

Probably the grayish look is a worn out black paint. It's certainly very difficult to say when looking at B&W pics, but if it was painted black and you are giving the textures a slight "worn out" look (Which a sub, battered by salt water is not at all out of place) then your medium grey should be OK :up:
