[REQ] Default TDC Torpedo Settings
 

Is it possible to have the default TDC torpedo settings changed, such as:

Speed = fast (instead of slow)
Depth = whatever we prefer to default it at (4.5 m)
Pistol = Impact (instead of magnetic)

I hate having to reset those every time, only to find that I missed one and watch my torp go astray.

Unless something has changed between SH4 and SH5, no, it's not possible.

I beg to differ on that one. With the scripting capabilities anything is possible - even this.

That's why he wrote "unless something has changed." ;) In SH4, it is not possible to set the default firing speed or pistol preference, though the default launch depth is very easy to change (it's in the SIM file for the torpedoes).

Is it something that can easily be done by anyone or is it complicated to do, enough that we need to leave it to one of the specialists? Either way, it would be a nice little helpful change that would scratch one more annoyance off the list.

I used S3D to edit ...\Library\torpedoes_g7a-e.sim. I changed the amun_Torpedo(s) depth value to 4.8, saved the file, reloaded my save, but the tubes were still on the original default value. Is that the correct file, and if so, is there anything I've done wrong or that I'm missing?

Ok, please disregard the questions above, because after I went in for a refit and got a boat load of fish, all the torpedos were at my desired depth (4.8m), so this worked. So, that's one down, and two to go. :) Thanks LukeFF!! Much appreciated!
