[REQ] Bottom out
 

Would it be possible to create a mod that allows you to bottom out to avoid detection??? I.E. shut down all motors and silent running but without damage to the boat and so the TC works....I know you can turn travel mode on now but that won't interupt should a new merch or escort comes into range

Just being able to play dead on the bottom would be nice.:rock:

Would be a good addition, and also realistic as many uboat commanders used this trick to help escape evasion. Implementing it hopefully would not be too difficult. Do it in stock game and it makes little difference, mind you the AI arent too hot right now, but i like the idea of this option, would be cool.

noobish question:
resting on the bottom should mask ASDIC too, right? if so, then the escorts should lose you?

Yeh was a common trick used to help mask ASDIC, was pretty succesful too.

it never worked in any of the series. i think you take damage just sitting there on the bottom

Yeh always did in 3 and 4, would be a great feature if it could be worked into SH5.

Tried it load in SH3 and it worked ok but unless you land going ultra slowly you end up wrecking your boat. Also because of the shallowness you couldn't operate the TC
