What do you think of this card, video for...

SH5.

My computer is older so I'm not sure I want to dump a top of the line card into it. Just something to get me into SH 5 until the funds become available to upgrade the whole system.
Thanks.

I am no expert on all of the Ati's 5800 series cards, but they are supposedly running cooler.

If 5870 is too expensive (or doesn't fit with your motherboard!), then there is the 5850 (you might have to buy new sata cables that fit underneath the card), and then there are other budget cards that are cheaper and I suspect a comparison will show them to be better than 4350.

I bought a Radeon 5850 to upgrade my Radeon 3870 and I am happy with it. I had to first keep two of my five Sata slots unused because the card reside just over them, so I will have to use special/other Sata cables that have a lower profile when fitted onto the motherboard.

Nvidia seem to (from what I understand so far) have issues with the shadows used in SH5. Perhaps it is just a driver issue. Feel free to correct me ppl.

Thanks Gents.

Hans I'll be shopping the 1st three you gave me, as for the Nvidia, I heard that the series linked to is having issues with SH5, as Decoman said. I'll have to save a few more pennies before I buy the card, but it's worth the money to know a particular card will definitely work. :yeah:
