Bah.. Lost my Iron Cross 1st Class
 

So returning from my 5th patrol in 39, I was sitting outside of Scapa waiting for HMS Hood and Warspite to pass through the straight.

Managed to bag them, as well as 25,000 tons worth of merchants on the way home. Upon returning to base I recieve the Iron Cross 1st Class..

Save, go eat Dinner, come back preparing to sink 100k and.. no more Iron cross.. WTF?

Oh, it's gotta be somewhere. Where did you last leave it?

Check the sock drawer.

I depose what I did.. In my haste to eat I quit to desk top and x'd out the ubi connection without letting it close by itself..DOH!

Edit: I swear I left it on the map counter.. So help me God if Bernard threw it out during the cleaning period!

Don't fret about it. It's been melted down and turned into bullets for the infantry.

I reloaded a save game only to have the merchant that was on fire and about to sink repair itself while I was away.

I didn't know this was an offline persistant world.

I'd been playing most of the day, saving diligently along the way. Then a storm (in RL) came out of nowhere and I lost power. EVERYTHING I'd done today was lost... 10 ships sunk.. no longer sunk. Online game synch isn't a bad idea TILL THE STUPID THING DOESN'T CHECK TIME STAMPS...
