[REQ] Get a VIIB instead of VIIC upgrade
Hi
Haven't seen that this is available, but it would be nice to get the correct type VIIB upgrade instead of a C for campaign. Then from the type VIIB eventually the VIIC and C41 when they are historically available. Thanks, G |
Should be easy enough to change
Working on it now as happens Trouble with using correct dates is the first VIIC\41 - U292 wasnt commissioned until 25th August 43 When the game has finished  And strictly speaking the 2nd flotilla - the one you are in during TotalGermany and Happy Times never had the 7B and although uboat.net gives the flotilla as having the 7c the list of assigned boats contains no 7cs The flotilla used the IXs So for the sake of less headaches lets turn a blind eye to the above eh |
I would like to know how to do this as well. I really wanted a "B" ad ended up with a VIIC.....in 1939.
|
Has anybody figured out how to do this yet?
Running a VIIC in 1939 seems silly. : / |
Ok a lil busy right now so will give you the details
Did alter the files my end but as you cannot pick your boat thru the start and get it while playing never had chance to fully test \data\UPCDataGE\UPCCampaignData Open Flotillas upc in notepad Scroll down to flotilla 2 and alter so looks like below [Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 1] ID= F2VIIA NameDisplayable= Type VIIA U-boat AvailabilityInterval= NULL, 1941-01-01 IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIA UnitTypeCommonality= 4 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL [Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 2] ID= F2VIIB NameDisplayable= Type VIIB U-boat AvailabilityInterval= NULL, 1941-05-01 IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIB UnitTypeCommonality= 4 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL [Flotilla 2.UserPlayerUnitType 3] ID= F2VIIC NameDisplayable= Type VIIC U-boat AvailabilityInterval= 1940-11-02, NULL IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= VIIC UnitTypeCommonality= 10 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL Save Next open CareerOptions upc Change TotalGermany to as below [CareerOptions 1] ID= TotalGermany39 [CareerOptions 1.Flotilla 1] ID= C1Flotilla1 NameDisplayable= 2. Unterseebootsflottille IDLinkFlotilla= 2ndFlotilla ; link to ID in Flotilla upc file IDLinkUserPlayerUnits= F2VIIA, 1, F2VIIB, 1 FlotillaBriefingText= FlotillaCommonality= 1 Then save Text in yellow is the new text added Back up your files first Not sure if the career options one is needed as the Flotillas entry should cover it but better to add |
Thanks, Big!
I will give it a go when I get home. |
Allthough getting a VIIC is early in the war might be realists i feel happy with the VIIC since the VIIB has the VIIC conning tower and thus looks exacly like a VIIC exept for the wire cutter. Untill this is fixed i dont mind having the VIIC.

Are you serious? They didn't even model the proper conning towers? Is there a proper VIIB conning tower in the game that we can switch out or was there not even one made for SH5? Oh geez............. |
Bigboy, I tried those changes and it is unfortunately still the VIIC.

Will delve some more |

I had the VIIA. I saved the game before entering the harbor, right before it asks if you would like the new boat. |
It might be a case of the mod needs to be installed in port or even to have the campaign restarted perhaps?
Can you have multiple campaigns running at the same time under multiple captains like in SH3? |

My port changes didnt show during a save game and IIRC had to start a new career to get all to work ok Quote:
Have 2 testing at the mo plus my normal campaign |
Tried aswell but didn't work. Had a VIIA and a savegame before entering port. Still got a VIIC.
|
ok no worries
At work at mo so will look into when get home |
