Looks more like a mini-Yuan to me, although to be fair the Yuan is a Kilo-copy:

Yes but the Yuan has an upper rudder unlike the Kilo.:O:

Although I have to admit that Widmore's sub does have fairwater planes like the Yuan :D

Very nice episode though, it was aired last night on this side of the pond.:salute:
