What sub is this picture from?

I was wasting some time Googling for sub pics and I came across this one of what I assume is a shot of the conn of some old cantankerous beast. It looks like something from the 688 era but I'm not sure if those had joysticks or not. Could it be a civilian research submersible?

It's the NR-1 nuclear powered research sub.

Ah .. how could I forget about her !? I knew it is something small, most probably military, most probably US, cold war era, not DSRV .. and I could not think about anything :88)

The NR-1 (now that would be outstanding as a playable unit in DW) the only sub with wheels. :haha: You could literally drive it on the ocean floor.

Ahhh so that's what it is. I remember reading about that in Blind Man's Bluff's. Boy the places and things that thing has seen.
