A rediculous basic question
 

Just been using my deck gun crew to finish off a tanker ---asked the WO to get the gun manned. But now the battle is over there seems no way to stand the gun crew down--- WO doesnt seem to offer any "Unman the gun" dialogue option and pressing F5 seems equally ineffective-----please tell me how to stand down this gun crew.
There seem so many of these unclearly documented aspects of the game.

Dive. Sad to say the only way I can pull my guys away from the sexiness of the deck gun is to try and drowned them.

Has to do with morale points.

Dont worry even with the unman guns option is available it often does not work anyhow.

As mentioned above dive the boat is the only way to get the guys off the gun.

Oh and good luck and getting them to man the gun again. ;)

You need

a: morale mod
b: Church's keyboard mod

check the mod thread for both mods, very popular.

Then F5 does toggle the deck crew off. However sometimes the button gets confused as to whether its on/off, so you might see it stay lit but if you look at the deck, the crew has dissapeared. I think thats the best fix currently for the gun deck crew issue.

Is there no humane way to relieve these brave lads ?????---and did the Brits know this was the German policy--must have encouraged them enormously to hang on in there and seek out more and more deck gun duels.....:yeah:

Just "surface" the boat, even though you're on the surface. The deck gun crew will leave.
