Greetings I'm new
Hello all. Back in the mid '90s I watched a German film titled Das Boot. Unfortunately it was the 2 and a half hour English dubbed version...nevertheless, I enjoyed it so much that I ran out and bought Aces of the Deep, which at the time seemed to be the only Sub sim worth playing (or even out there, for that matter).
Then in 1997 a 2-VHS Directors Cut of Das Boot came out, adding a full hour of footage, with the original dialogue and subtitles. I watched it in its full glory.
Anyway, after years of waiting for a proper sequel to Aces, or even a successor, there was none to be had. I gave up on Sub sims altogether, thinking it a dead niche. I had heard of a series called Silent Hunter, but it didn't catch my interest, as I had heard too many negative things about it. Silent Hunter 3 looked the most promising in '05, but it was bug-ridden.
I put off getting it until I found out that it was patched numerous times, and finally bought it a week ago. I'm kicking myself for not getting this masterpiece earlier. I have few complaints.
