Only you can decide if it's worth it to you.

YES. but only because i've seen what can be done by the modders. If it wasnt for the modders then i'd say no. too many bugs and unfinished state. I picked up my SH5 collectors ed. yesterday. the game is still good but its nowhere near as good as SH3 GWX. You'll need a few mods to fix the game brake'n bugs (like the morale bug). Mods can be found in the download section of this website. But SH5 will take awhile before its fully playable. So dont be in a hurry to buy it. But dont blame me if you do buy it and dont like it. Theres plenty of opinions on this website. Maybe its worthwile to wait for Neals Review. Should be soon. Eh Neal? hint, hint, Wheres this damn review.:O: |
if its the same as the oz one:
the map aint anything to write home about. the only good thing about the hardcover book is that it smells nice (if you are the type of person who winds down the window at the petrol station). The recognition manual pages are split across 2 pages so the spine prevents detail being seen. The crew profiles are identical to that in the paper guide with the keycode (which i assume u get with the normal version). The torpedos page list absolutely no information about the torpedos. Just a picture and the name T1/T2/T4. Really is a useless book. Havent played the music CD yet...wonder if that is DRM'd too :) |

And yes the book does smell nice :yep: But i am one of those people that winds the window down at the petrol station.:DL |
$120 NZ? What's that in $US?
I think it's a severe ripoff in Australia. Sounds like a bunch of cheap crap of no particular use, all vastly over-priced. Same thing SEGA did with Empire and Napoleon TW games. Common gouging trick from publishers; those games are shockingly over-priced in Australia without the tacky baubles. I can't give you advice, however, as I refuse to buy the game with OSP/DRM. |

Yes us in NZ pay alot more than most for PC software :wah: |
If you get the soundtrack, YES. Otherwise NO, get the normal version. Nothing but the soundtrack is worth anything in the CE. :) Unless you like the box that is.
|
now that u mention the box...i thought it was going to be a metal box, but its really just a plastic box with some extremely thin tin or something lining the front and back of the box. i.e. sides of the box and the entire inside are plastic

So for an extra $20 i think its worth getting the Collectors Edition. |
At least you people got a manual. My regular edition had a card with the cd-key, the game disk and some documentary dvd I haven't looked at yet.
The manual I read came in pdf form. What a joke that was. Doesn't even have a picture of one ship in it. I was hoping to at least print off a recognition manual. They didn't put any effort into the manual whatsoever. Even things they did try to explain just had a reference to a picture on the page that was too low of a resolution to make anything out. I should have just bought it off of Steam when it eventually goes on sale for $20 and kept playing SH IV. I haven't even mentioned the game itself. What a buggy mess. I was willing to cut UBI a break, DRM warts and all. But they have failed hard. They shouldn't just be apologizing for DRM service issues, they should be apologizing for the whole product, start to finish. |
I bought the CE here in the UK and I'm glad I did, I've got no regrets.
For an extra 20 bucks you're gonna pay for it I'd say it's worth it. Ok the game is buggy at the moment, but once it's ironed out I think we're gonna hav a nice sim. It's deffinetly got potential. |

The CE version was £35 (almost double the price ) |
3 of the 7 skins are on uboats
They come in their own mis layer called collectors edition Shame they dont work :damn: Guess it was a lil too hard for the devs to remember to add those to the files The other 4 skins are on warships that also have their own mis And you guessed it The hardback manual is pretty cool Tis your choice |
Don't waste your money. It's bad enough that people cannot even play the game, due to their OSP being down all too frequently; if you really must buy the game, just get the regular, at least you're not throwing as much money away.
